Bradford Stanley, CFA, is Chief Investment and Chief Technology Officer of The Stanley-Laman Group, which he joined in 2003. He leads the firm’s investment strategy and directs the architecture and development of its proprietary research, analytical, quantitative, and artificial-intelligence systems.

Brad is the creator and architect of the firm’s proprietary Ad-Star® System, an analytical platform designed to evaluate publicly traded companies through extensive fundamental and forensic analysis. The system examines more than ten thousand historical financial metrics, ratios, and proprietary calculations to assess areas including earnings quality, financial condition, operating performance, and long-term business history across large investment universes. Ad-Star® provides a systematic framework for identifying companies that meet the firm’s fundamental criteria and eliminating those that do not.

Brad has also led the firm’s artificial-intelligence strategy and development, architecting two proprietary systems that integrate advanced AI into the firm’s research and investment infrastructure. The Fusion Engine® is a multi-model research and verification system that brings together leading AI models from across the industry to independently analyze complex questions, challenge underlying assumptions, examine competing conclusions, and subject important claims to additional verification. Rather than treating model consensus as proof, the system is designed to use disagreement, cross-examination, evidence, and independent checks as part of the research process.

Zygent AI™ is the firm’s agentic operating environment, coordinating specialized AI agents, workflows, controls, and verification processes to conduct research and to build and maintain the quantitative infrastructure supporting the investment process. Its work spans point-in-time data systems, signal-research and statistical-validation frameworks, research automation, data-integrity controls, and portfolio-analysis infrastructure. Together, Fusion Engine® and Zygent AI™ reflect Brad’s approach to artificial intelligence: combining the breadth and speed of frontier models with rigorous evidence standards, engineered safeguards, independent verification, and human oversight.

Brad is a CFA Charterholder, having earned the designation in 2009 after passing all three examinations on his first attempt. He is a member of the American Finance Association and CFA Society Philadelphia.

Brad earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University in 2003, with a minor in Cognitive Psychology, and received the Carnegie Mellon Senior Leadership Award. His background in computer science, quantitative research, and investment management informs his work at the intersection of technology and investing.
