Steven Abel, J.D., LL.M., is Senior Tax Counsel at The Stanley-Laman Group, which he joined in 2017. He works as an attorney for Laman Law, LLC, providing legal counsel on estate planning, income and transfer tax planning, asset protection, and business succession to the firm's clients.
Steven's practice focuses on trust and estate administration, business succession planning, and charitable gift planning. He works with the firm's investment and financial planning professionals on tax-efficient transfers of family wealth across generations. Before joining the firm, he practiced law representing clients in tax disputes and planning matters before federal, state, and local taxing authorities.
Steven earned his J.D., cum laude, from The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law in 2013 and his LL.M. in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center in 2014, where he also received a certificate in Estate Planning. He holds a dual undergraduate degree in Economics and Criminology/Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland, earned in 2009.
Steven is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Florida.
